First Impressions - NYX stay matte but not flat

Oh Hi guys!

Been a while hey! But today I’m bringing you a first impressions review.
This NYX foundation has been out for a little while so yes I’m a tad late to the party but as I always say, better late than never.
I’d heard so many good reviews from others as well so I literally couldn’t not try it.

So I was amazed to find out how many shades it comes in - 30 to be precise. And within those shades there seems to be a colour for everyone. As always when ordering online it’s hard to judge what shade you need so I did buy a couple and ended up mixing my perfect shade. I mixed together ivory and medium beige. The size of the tube is 35mls which I great as foundations tend to be 30mls. And with a price of £6 you really can’t complain.

So for the part your all waiting for what did I think about it...

I loved it!

It applied really nicely and the coverage was fantastic. Although you wouldn’t really need to, it was also buildable without caking. It wears really well and I didn’t find my skin to look shiny hardly at all throughout the day which is another bonus. My skin type is combination so being oil free this is perfect for this skin type. However I’d love to hear if your skin type is dry and what you think about it as I feel it could work for you too. I feel this could quickly become a new favourite foundation.

Sleep Serenity

Do you sleep well?

For me, I'm pleased to say that it is quite rare that I struggle getting to sleep or even staying asleep. Don't get me wrong, I still need my routine to relax me to let me drift off into a slumber.

Hubby however went through a spell struggling to get to sleep and I'd heard this pillow mist was good so decided to give it a shot.

It's scented with the typical flavours that are said to be relaxing, lavender and camomile. Now usually for me I stay away from lavender as I just can't stand the smell, but, I have to say this one isn't too bad. I'm not sure if it's because it's mixed with the camomile or if it's just not that strong.
Anyhow soon as I got it, that night I sprayed it on mine and Paul's pillows.
What I did notice was that it wasn't overpowering when laying down. Bonus! As usual for me I drifted off pretty well. In the morning I asked Paul if it helped him and he wasn't so sure. He reckoned it still took a while to drift off.

I think basically for us it just gave us that fresh sheet feeling every night. Would Paul recommend it after further use.. unfortunately not. However I've found it does make a good room spray! Multi use product!

'Aloe Vera'

Oh hey!

Today's review is probably a random product to review seeing as summer is over, BUT I wanted to share it with you all anyway. And those of you off to sunny destinations over winter might like it!

Enhancer is what it's called. Doesn't give many clues away as to what it is does it. Well it's an aloe vera gel that I have found to be the BEST after sun lotion you could need.

I did naughtily get a little burnt over the August bank holiday as we had a day out on dads boat. Stupid but literally didn't realise it was as hot as it  was, so we all pretty much came home glowing.
Anyhow, I always use this product if my skins feeling hot to touch from a day in the sun. It instantly cools the skin and really moisturises and the same time. Why I love it more than alot of other after sun products?..
It doesn't leave skin sticky. I bloody hate that! Clothes sticking all on you and feeling like your clothes are getting more use from the lotion than your skin! Haha!
It's from the company Nuskin which is a network marketing company so no doubt someone on your Facebook is selling the products! Failing that you can visit their website - https://www.nuskin.com/en_GB/products/nuskin/face_care/moisturizers/97110308.html
Cost is around £18 for the 100ml tube.

I literally can't be without this product when I've caught the sun

Out 5 I give this 5/5

Girlz Only

Welcome, welcome!

I've decided to give 'Blogtober' a go.
31 days, 31 quick fire reviews.
I want to review as many different products without all the long chatter in between. I want them to be straight to the point. Letting you know if I think there worth it or not!

Today's product is a dry shampoo from 'Girlz Only'. I've had this a whole so for the life of me cannot think where I exactly brought it but after googling you can get it in Tesco and I'm now pretty sure that's where I got mine. The price in Tesco as of today is actually just £1. Can't beat that price either hey. It lasts ages too.
I'm normally very much a Batiste lover and especially having darker hair loved that they done the one for dark haired girls, to save any white powdering looking hair.

That brings me only nicely to exactly why I LOVE this dry shampoo:

-No white residue left in hair✔️
-Hair is not left looking dull✔️
-Hair doesn't feel full of product✔️
-Great fragrances✔️
-Gives hair more volume✔️

Totally converted to this brand from now on!
Marks out of 5, I'd give this a solid 5/5

SophX Palette

I feel like I've been waiting ages to write this review!
We've been teased with this palette for ages before finally being able to get our mits on it!

Incase you've been hibinating and didn't know, Makeup Revolution has done a collab palette with sophdoesnails and well,... it's bloody beautiful.
It recently launched on the Tam Beauty website and of course I had to get my hands on it straight away.

Delivery seemed quicker than normal, but hey I'm not complaining! And it literally turned up at exactly the right time. I'd just sat down to do my makeup and there was a knock on the door. Good timing Mr posty!
So straight away I ripped open the packaging giving myself a paper cut in the process, and  I just stared lovingly at the sight of the palette. Seeing it in the flesh was so much prettier!
Again the palette has a great mixture of matte and shimmer shades. Perfect crease shades too. It will suit all skin tones. This palette is one I would take on holiday with me knowing I could create so many looks. You could keep it totally nude and natural or bright, bold and colourful.

As always the shadows blend out beautifully and have very minimal fall out. I say minimal as the purple shade did seem to have a little but not enough to worry about.
I'm totally addicted to using this palette right now. I    think I'm going to do a week in makeup with this palette. Use it everyday for 7 days and create a different look and share it with you. Not sure it that will be via blog posts or a YouTube video yet!
If you haven't already subscribed to my channel I would absolutely love you to - https://www.youtube.com/user/LauraBeautify

But honestly as always Makeup Revolution.. you did it again! Amazing palette at an affordable price of £10. £2 more than most palettes but so worth it!
And of course a massive congratulations so sophdoesnails for helping to create such a brilliant palette! It's something I only dream of doing right now, but who knows. Maybe one day you'll all be seeing a palette by Mrs T! Dreams do come true..

'THAT' yellow dress!

Hey hey!

Yes.. that's right.. I'm bringing you a fashion post! Not my usual post of late but something I enjoy doing every now and then.

So yes.. THAT yellow dress. I feel like everyone should know about it. But if you don't follow 'jessontheplussize' on instagram you probably won't. And if you don't follow her, you should.
Jess is my all time favourite fashion inspo right now!
I basically just want to be her. Haha! She has more body confidence than I've ever known and looks fantastic in everything that she wears. She proves you can be a big girl and STILL keep up with the latest fashion trends.

Any how, back to the dress. I first saw this dress on Jess' instagram and I really liked it. It's from the River island plus range, which to be honest I hadn't really ever looked through. As much as I liked the dress and thought jess looked fab in it, I just wasn't sure I'd like it on me. Firstly I'm not a dress person and secondly I'm not really a yellow person either!
I pondered about it for a while then thought 'Nah I'll leave it, can't be bothered sending it back if I don't like it'. Then.. it was on sale.. £12 down from £39. How could I say no!
Dress arrived, I tried it on and actually really liked it on me. I love the 3/4 length with the side splits and the neckline is super flattering.
It's one of those dresses you can wear on an everyday basis, to work etc or you could dress it up with heels to look smarter. That's what I had in mind as I just don't normally do dresses. Especially not as an everyday outfit. But pairing it with my converse I actually really liked this look.
They did have this in black too which would look really nice dressed up. Here's the link http://fave.co/2xRkh0L
Hopefully it may come back!
I'm definitely stuck in a rut with my clothes. I typically always reach for jeans and vests/jumpers. But slowly broadening my horizons and starting to buy different items. So expect some more fashion posts, including more dresses.

Primark Master Eye Palette

Good Morning lovelies!

It's been a hot minute since I posted my last blog. I've been waiting to give this palette a good go before writing this blog post!

Hands up who's tried Primark makeup?🙋🏼
I know I have and I know I haven't always loved what I've tried. Especially when it comes to eyeshadow palettes. BUT this little beauty just caught my eye. The colours looked incredible.

I'm a sucker for warm toned palettes for a start but have really enjoyed wearing more pinky tones too. (However if you've seen my new hair, pinks not quite my colour now).
My past experience with a Primark palette was that it wasn't very pigmented. There luckily was a tester so I swatched just one shadow and couldn't believe it. It was SO pigmented that that was it. The palette was in my basket.

This picture is with the flash on. So you can really seen that there's a great mix of mattes and shimmers, which I love in a palette as it means generally you can do a whole look only using the one palette.
On first use of the palette the colours I used, again, were all super pigmented and blended out really nicely. Luckily I'd decided to do my eyes before my foundation on this occasion, and quite frankly with this palette, that's a must.
The fall out is ridiculous!
However the finished look was lovely and what's more, it lasted all night with no creasing. I used my concealer as a base which I always use. I had thought it might fade really quickly but no, no touching up is needed.

I've annoyingly lost the picture from when I first tried out the palette but used it this morning to show you me wearing the palette.

These are the colours I used to create this look:

So for £6 this palette is by far SO WORTH IT! And I will definitely be interested to try other palettes again now. I can deal with a bit of fall out when the product lasts and looks so great.
Primark.. you have definitely upped your makeup game!
